Hydroaccumulators AS have elastomer diaphragm which is partition between a gas and a liquid. The AS accumulators are more durable due to less deformation of the diaphragm in comparsion with the bladder hydroaccumulators. The membrane can be replaced.
Nominal capacity: from 0.02 to 10 dm³; maximum operating pressure: up to 400 bar.
The AS accumulators consist of two screwed together hemispherical shells which are made from carbon steel. The elastomer diaphragm is between two hemispheres with a metal stud which allows rapid and completely discharge of fluid. This metal stud eliminates the risk of diaphragm damage. Type of elastomer and inside coating determine allowable working fluids. The standard fluid is mineral-based oil but an accumulator can be adapted to operate with water, diesel fuel, gasoline or even ethylene oxide.
The diaphragm only changes position, the elastomer in fact works little. Due to the diaphragm and the metal stud response of an AS accumulator is faster than response of a bladder accumulator. Therefore the diaphragm accumulators are used in dynamic work conditions. These accumulators are characterized by good service life.
Feature overview:
- Capacity range: from 0.02 to 10 dm³;
- Maximum operating pressure: up to 400 bar;
- Charging the gas: with charging valve;
- Extreme operating temperature: from -20 to +80°C (standard);
- Mineral-based hydraulic fluids (standard).
Advantages:
- Excellent gas/fluid tightness;
- Long durability due to diaphragm only changes its position – elastomer works little;
- Can be adopted to suit wide range of fluids;
- Ability to diaphragm change;
- Fast work;
- Possibility of total and rapid discharge;
- Version for low temperature (from -40 to +100°C) available.
Versions and accesories
The charging valve for filling gas are available in P1620 valve (or P1620 stainless steel) or SCHRADER valve. Fluid side connection size depends on capacity of the accumulator (from G 1/4″ to G 3/4″ and M18x1.5 and M33x2). Additional accesories include fixed clamps made of zinc-plated steel and stainless steel and adaptors according to the catalogue.
Safety
Hydropneumatic accumulators are gas pressure vessles and therefore the manufacture of such vessles must conform to CE directive 97/23/CE (replaced by 2014/68/EU). Farther, accumulators of less than 1 litre capacity cannot be stamped CE, but hydroaccumulators made by Hydro Leduc are supplied with manufacturer’s certificate and conform to the CE directive. Accumulators of 1 litre capacity ore more are supplied with CE certificate; they bear the CE stamp and the reference of the official organisation certifying their conformity. According to applications, additional technical inspection UDT (Office of Technical Inspection) or TDT (Transportowy Dozor Techniczny) is required in Poland.
